CLOVER LOVE ON DAILY LABELS

Monday, 20 February 2012 3:46:23 AM EST

Oh. Where did the weekend go? Yet another amazing summer weekend has disappeared into thin air and no one knows where it went.

Happy Monday Afternoon then.

We’re just getting a little excited about a new label on board this week.

 Clover Love.

This professional artist is no fool. Amongst frequent gallery gigs and retail store events showcasing her paintings, Kristie Stenning launched her label Clover Love at Sydney’s Bondi Markets only three years ago.

Soon after moving her items into boutiques nationally, Kristie found her label travelling as far as London and Los Angeles too. Since then, her delightfully soft and flowing fabrics have not only caught our keen eye but also that of some British press heavyweights at Vogue, Elle and Grazia.

If the girl wasn’t busy enough, plans to expand Clover Love into a collection that doubles as an art exhibition are in place. There’s no time to be tired.

Clover Love is handmade in Australia and we’re pretty chuffed to have these feminine threads with Daily Labels. So should you. Don’t miss out.

THE TEES

Wednesday, 15 February 2012 9:00:00 AM EST

Festive season was just hitting when we last checked in to our blog so we’d like to wish all our fans, friends, foes and anyone else for that matter a happy new one.

We’re pretty sure 2012 is going to be a slamming year. For one, we’ve got good vibes on it being an even number. Odd numbers make us crap our pants.

2012 is also way easier to handwrite. “11” just isn’t cursive enough for the self-proclaimed typography aficionados in our team.

Plus, it’s only February, so it’s just good to be positive while the sun is still shining, right?

While we’re definitely getting fiddly about autumn approaching, there’s no chance that anyone at head office is packing away any summer items just yet.

Hell no.

In fact, we’re excited to be welcoming two new labels to our online store whose tees’ll slide into your summer wardrobes like lime does at the tip of your Corona. Ona.

  Fontaine.

Ladies, Fontaine is designed for the lads but there’s no getting around it. The oversized tee as seen on any female Garance Doré snaps will improve anyone’s intelligence on this one.

Designer Simon Lyssiotis designs colourful slim-fitting tees made from 100% cotton. And we’re not just talking any cotton. We’re talking cotton that is Australian made. Don’t mess around.

Already featured a few times in Fashion Journal and with a 10 page summer spread in Fjorde Magazine (page 36), Fontaine has a following of famous nobodies like us plus cool people that go out and drink blackcurrant ciders.

Our new friends are pretty well stocked around the nation but lay claim to a Fontaine this week on Daily Labels if you haven’t already.

 Away With The Others.

Away With The Others is a Melbourne-based label launching basic prints monthly from university students with a graphic edge. With 5 new designs dropping monthly, Away With The Others is always keeping its appearance fresh and realistic.

All designs are printed with a quantity of 10 making each release limited. They're printed onto a longer cut garment with a ribbed scoop neck.

Featuring very shortly on Daily Labels, their prints are designed to fade over time to reveal a worn appreciated look.

Check our new siblings out on their Facebook page. They're swimming in fans. Another 20,000 can't hurt.

SUMMER OF [UN]LOVE

Tuesday, 15 February 2011 5:45:33 AM EST

 Under The Weather. Un-Summer.

Problem:

So devoted are we to summer, that being forced to wear summer garb with scarves and cardigans one day to peeling each superfluous layer off the next, well, it's causing grief at Melbourne headquarters. It's so bad, that we’ve rebranded Summer: Un-Summer.

Solution:

City Of Churches anyone?
According to our friends at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Adelaide is the place to be. Seemingly free of climate devastation, the Rads boasts consistent summer temperatures.

The Truth:

How easily distracted we are. L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2011 is fast approaching and like, as if we’d miss it?

  Jeans. Lots Of Them.

Enter I Heard They Eat Cigarettes.

This Melbourne lot are uncomplicated. They love jeans.

We like to think we’re just as uncomplicated and equally dig their jeans.

We’re also thrilled to be featuring their prime cuts and inimitable t-shirts. Hit up their latest collection and stay tuned for more items on Daily Labels.

  Get Your Lady On.

angel&belle

Daily Labels sure knows how to catch the cookie while it’s hot.

Sydney girls Belinda and Angela only launched their label Angel & Belle in November 2010 with their playful Summer Blossom collection.

This award-winning design duo likes to mix comfort with femininity and individualism when creating statement pieces.

View their current collection online and keep your eyes peeled for more of their items.

 Ipanema Girl.

Back from your South American hallucination? Because we need to tell you that the bikinis we are featuring on Daily Labels are awesome.

Ipanema Girl distinctively creates beachwear inspired by two of the most famous bikini-conscious locations in the world: Australia and Brazil.

Brazilian-born Lourdes Miyoshi’s bikinis are not only ultra-glam-ooh-la-la, but outrageously figure-flattering. Even on us.

 Who Said We Can’t Count?

Brisbane label Onehundred produces avant-garde clothing in limited edition runs of 100 in line with their philosophy that the best things in life are finite.

Featuring artists from various backgrounds, Onehundred creates t-shirts inspired by popular culture. While these tees are fashion forward, they are in no way compromised with market saturation.

Score one hundred million trillion seconds of delight with more upcoming stock on Daily Labels.

WE GOTS THE FEVERS

Monday, 4 October 2010 5:11:37 AM EST

We Gots The Fevers - Daily Labels

No matter the nail biting AFL Grand Final re-match result, you’d have to be a recluse or a complete and utter bore not to have noticed the sweet-smelling air over the weekend.  Yet it would seem that many of us have marked the arrival of Primavera not by embracing floral, ice-cream and espadrilles, but instead with hay fever.

Urgent Newsflash: this is unacceptable new-season conduct.

A burning faux pas here at Daily Labels headquarters, we simply despise having our très important thoughts and conversations interrupted by sneezing and sniffling and all sorts of uncouth sinus-like behaviour (especially when so hideously close to our new-season garments).

For heaven’s sake, talk to someone else about your breathing problems and let us fashion mortals get on with our totally amazing hay fever free lives.

THE GLOOMS

Tuesday, 27 July 2010 2:00:45 PM EST

The Glooms - Daily Labels

The only way to lift ourselves from mid-winter glooms is to compare people and things that are “worse off”. Mel Gibson springs to mind, as does the sore loser at the butt of the election results next month.

With these upbeat thoughts in mind, the Daily Labels crew is doing what it does best: beating the nippy blues by getting hot under the covers at one its first received lookbooks of the summer season.
